Letters from Tim

Dear friends,

What has been the hardest aspect of the pandemic for you?

I guess there will be a range of answers for all of us, and we might have different answers for different periods over the last six months.  Now we are getting used to meeting for worship again, some of the required restrictions on distancing and wearing of masks are becoming part of our lives, and although we might not like it, it allows us to worship.

For me it is hard not to sing along to the hymns and songs that are played. But I am afraid that it is just not permitted. The guidance is clear that there is to be no singing. Please do restrain yourself, until you get home, or get in the shower, then you can sing away to your hearts content.

We are permitted to meet for worship because we are a Covid safe building, in which our risk assessment reduces the risk of transmission as much as possible.  If we are in breach of the guidelines, then we run the risk of not being able to meet at all.

At the time of writing, Sheffield is not under another lockdown, but the possibility of further restrictions is real, and we may not be able to be open. We will have to see.

We plan to have our Harvest Festival on 11th October. If you would like to donate any non-perishable food to be distributed to a local foodbank, do please bring something. When you arrive at church and after you have been registered for Track and Trace, place your gift on the table in church. Do not touch other items on the table.

Many thanks to those working hard to enable our gathering for worship possible.

Peace

Tim
